About WIN
IWAN is the owner of a 3-hectare greenhouse tomato farm in WASHINGTON, U.S.A. The farm grows bunch-harvest tomatoes and produces 700 tons of high-quality tomatoes annually, which has brought him a significant profit. 2019, IWAN decided to expand the planting area to 5 hectares, and set up a more advanced planting facility and control system to reduce the dependence on labor.
Challenges faced
A lack of specialized agronomic managers was creating obstacles for IWAN to expand its acreage. As a result, IWAN needed a smarter and more energy-efficient control system to help him meet his planting goals.
Products and Effects
We at Smart Shed provided IWAN with an advanced climate control system, HOSMART, and a water and fertilizer control system, ISMART, to manage the 5-hectare automated greenhouse. HOSMART's control of temperature and humidity provides excellent growing conditions for tomatoes, and the HOSMART climate controllers allow the user to set the greenhouse temperatures that they wish to maintain, including both heat-up temperatures and cool-down temperatures.
